This project required the removal of the existing covered porch and the construction of a larger more refined structure for entertaining. Tumbled pavers were used for the porch floor which extends from beneath the new roof and steps down to a comfortable patio area warmed by a gas firepit. A seat wall with columns partially wraps the fire pit and provides convenient seating. On the porch, a grill surround was constructed to house a new grill cart. Landscape lighting extends use of the space after dark and highlights the area. Landscape plantings soften the new patio and walls as well as the existing fence and utility building. Of note, this home sold two years later in large part because the prospective buyers immediately fell in love with the inviting backyard.
